The Tango
Sarah Michelle Hempel and Erik Ardeshir Irani joined their lives together in Holy Matrimony Irani
at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Frederick, Maryland on the eighth of October, 2005.
Pastor Ron Reaves (a.k.a Yenta Ron) presided over the intimate ceremony, which took place
just one year, eight months and six days after he introduced the couple. The bride looked
stunning in her georgette and satin gown, while the groom truly proved himself to be a handsome
prince and gracious gentleman.
After the ceremony, the couple joined together with friends and family for a light luncheon before
they were wisped away in horse and carriage. It rained hard that day, but no amount of drought-
ending downpour could ruin such an amazing day. The carriage took them on a tour of historic
Frederick, stopping in Baker Park, the old City Hall and a brief stop at everybody’s favorite
hangout- the Frederick Coffee Company. Finally, Gus the Horse let them off of at Brewer’s Alley
for dinner. They dined in the old mayor’s office on the second floor of the historic landmark.
Dinner was followed by some pretty smooth dance steps. The couple had been taking dance
lessons for many months and wowed their disbelieving friends and family with a tango to Por Una
Cabesa. The rest of the joined in and everyone had a wonderful evening!
